SBU conducts pretrial investigation in the case of another three deputies of Sevastopol city council
The SBU Chief Office in the AR of Crimea under procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office under the investigative judge decision initiated special pretrial investigation in the case of another three deputies of Sevastopol city council.
The law-enforcers established that deputies of the sixth convocation, which were voted in the next deputies elections of Sevastopol city council in 2010, consciously violated Constitution and other Ukrainian laws.
The SBU investigators documented essential damages inflicted by them to the sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine. The city council deputies realized that Sevastopol is an inalienable part of Ukraine, but voted for its “independence” and renaming of the city council in “Legislative assembly of Sevastopol city”. Besides, they also voted for creation of so-called “Republic of Crimea” and its annexation to the Russian Federation.
The SBU investigators determined the actions of offenders under p.11 Article 111 (high treason) of the Criminal code of Ukraine.
The special pretrial investigation concerning them is still under way, because they are wanted and permanently reside in the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea.
In the general case during 2017 the SBU has initiated special pretrial investigations in case of another eleven deputies of Sevastopol city council on suspicion of high treason.
At present the Prosecutor’s Office has already signed and referred to the court indictments for seven of them.
According to the legislation in power the mentioned person shall be punished by imprisonment to 15 years.
