Netherlands experts examine paintings from Horn museum found by SBU

Experts from the Netherlands examined the paintings of Dutch painters of the XVII-XVIII centuries from Horn museum found by the SBU in April this year.

During examination the museum director Ad Geerdink and art expert Ronald de Jager confirmed authenticity of the four paintings and thanked the SBU for its work.

In the process of expertise SBU Chief Investigative Department officers and Prosecutor General’s Office representatives were present.

Generally, in 2005 24 paintings and 40 silver antiquities worth almost 10 million euros were stolen from the Horn museum.

Please be reminded that during the April briefing the SBU Head Vasyl Hrytsak informed that the special operation of returning the paintings was conducted in 10 regions of Ukraine during 4 months.
