Ukraine returns paintings found by SBU to the Netherlands
The Ukrainian authorities returned to the Netherlands five paintings found by the SBU.
The Netherlands Ambassador Kees Klompenhouwer on behalf of his state thanked the SBU for its work that resulted in returning the paintings stolen 10 years ago from a Westfries Museum in Hoorn.
The Deputy Head of the SBU Mykhailo Hluhovskyi stressed that the search of pieces of art from the Hoorn museum will be continued. “The case isn’t closed”, - he said.
Please be reminded that yesterday director of the Westfries Museum Ad Heerdink and art expert Ronald de Jager examined the paintings of Dutch painters of the XVII-XVIII century which were found by the SBU in April this year and confirmed their authenticity.
