SBU seizes cocaine from foreign drug trafficker in Odesa airport
The SBU officers in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, border guards and customs officers, seized almost 20 g of cocaine from the foreign drug trafficker in Odesa International Airport.
During luggage inspection of the airplane passenger who arrived in Ukraine from the Middle East country, the law enforcers seized 19 g of cocaine hidden in the package of french fries under the guise of "spices". The express analysis uncovered cocaine content. The law enforcers also found passport of citizen of another country with changed surname.
The SBU officers established that the detainee was the participant of the international drug group, organizers of which deliver small consignments of cocaine to clients who were, in particular, from Ukraine. The SBU operatives uncovered that the drug trafficker had already arrived in our country at the end of last year.
The criminal proceeding was initiated under Part 3 Article 305 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The drug dealer was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine, the SBU investigators notified him of suspicion in committing the crime.
The urgent investigative actions are under way.
