Detained leader of Bryanka USSR terrorist group sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment
SBU materials helped to convict in Ternopil region in absentia a leader of the LNR illegal armed formation known as “Ryzhiy”.
Special service operatives have established that in 2014 a resident of Artemivsk (now Kipuch) of Perevalny district of Lugansk region voluntarily joined the ranks of terrorists. Being a member of armed formation Bryanka USSR, he took an active part in the hostilities against the ATO forces. As a “deputy commander of the battalion”, the militant was responsible for organizing and shelling the positions of Ukrainian military forces and civilian population, including by using the “Grad” rocket systems.
The Court found the militant guilty in committing the crime stipulated by Part 1 Article 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced him in absentia to 14 years of imprisonment with the confiscation of the owned property.
The sentence would start from the day of his arrest.
The offender was put on ‘wanted’ list.
The sentence came into force.
