Serviceman from Volyn region sentenced for participation in DNR terrorist organization
The SBU materials helped to sentence in absentia a serviceman of Ukrainian Army for avoidance of the service and participation in DNR terrorist organization.
SBU operatives established that in April 2014, a Volyn resident was called up to the military service to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and sent to the ATO area. In the summer of that year, the senior soldier was taken prisoner by the pro-Russian militants. A few months later, having betrayed the military oath, the man joined DNR terrorist organization, where, with weapons in his hands, he served in so-called First Motorized Rifle Brigade of terrorists, known as the “First Slavic Brigade”.
Kuibyshevskyi District Court in Zaporizzhia region found the criminal guilty in committing crimes stipulated by Part 2 Article 409 and Part 1 Article 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced him to 9 years of imprisonment with seizure of property.
The traitor is currently put onto ‘wanted’ list.
The sentence would start from the day of his arrest.
The verdict came into force.
