SBU detains militant of LNR terrorist organization (video)
The SBU CI officers jointly with the Armed Forces of Ukraine detained a militant of LNR terrorist organization in the JFO area.
SBU operatives established that in 2014 a citizen of Ukraine completed a combat and special training course in a training camp on the territory of Belgorod, Russia, run by instructors - representatives of Russian security agencies.
Then, during June 2014 - March 2018, he actively participated in hostilities against the Ukrainian Army, being a member of various illegal armed groups of so-called LNR. In particular, being a member of militants terrorist group ‘Prizrak’, and then of various units of ‘LNR People's Militia’ created by Russian occupation forces, the militant participated in the shelling of Ukrainian troops (as an artilleryman and artillery battery gunner) near Zorinsk, Perevalsk, Komissarivka, Bile, Debaltsevo, Nikishine, Bakhmutky and other villages.
The detainee was served a notice of suspicion in committing the crime under Part 1 Article 258-3 (creation of terrorist group or terrorist organization) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine; the 60 days custody was chosen as a measure of restraint.
The suspect gives important evidence of terrorist crimes against civilians and servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as of Russian military presence in the east of Ukraine.
