Kharkiv: SBU exposes corrupt official of the Ukraine’s State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection (video)
SBU officers exposed a corrupt official of the Main Directorate of Ukraine’s State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in Kharkiv region.
Law enforcement established that the chief of one of units among others assigned with anti-corruption tasks demanded USD 8,000 from his colleague for dismissing him from administrative responsibility for an alleged corruption-related crime.
The official was detained near his office while receiving the bribe.
Criminal proceedings are initiated under Part 3 Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The issue of serving the detainee a notice of suspicion in committing the crime and choosing the measure of restraint is being considered.
Investigation is ongoing.
The operation was conducted in cooperation with the Special Police of the Main Department of National Police in Kharkiv region under procedural guidance of the Military Prosecutor's Office of Kharkiv garrison of ATO forces.
