SBU liquidates a terrorist channel for secure communication with Russian handlers
The Security Service liquidated an uncontrolled international communication channel that was used by terrorists and blocked illegal run of telecommunications hardware in Dnipropetrovsk.
The perpetrator with the use of Internet by means of Voice Over IP avoiding international commutation centers received international telephone traffic from Russia. Later it was processed with the use of specialized telecom software and under the guise of local phone communications was transferred to the Ukrainian mobile operators’ networks.
Phone numbers to which the traffic was transferred were used by LNR/DNR terrorists to communicate with their Russian handlers.
During search computers, modems, more than 200 cards of Ukrainian satellite communication operators and local and foreign banking cards were seized.
In the framework of the criminal case launched under part 2 article 361 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine the pre-trial investigation is under way.
