Vasyl Maliuk was born on February 28, 1983, in Korostyshiv, Zhytomyr region.

In 2005, Vasyl graduated from the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine with a law degree.

V.Maliuk joined military service in the state security agencies in 2001. While working at regional SSU offices, Vasyl held positions from an operative to Deputy Chief of Directorate – Chief of Unit for Combating Corruption and Organised Crime.

In January 2020, Vasyl was appointed the First Deputy Chief of the SSU Main Directorate for Combating Corruption and Organised Crime.

In March 2020, by Presidential Decree No 86/2020, Vasyl Maliuk was appointed the First Deputy Head of the SSU – Chief of the SSU Main Directorate for Combating Corruption and Organised Crime.

In 2022, by Presidential Decree No 100/2022, V.Maliuk was appointed the First Deputy Head of the SSU.

On July 18, 2022, by Presidential Decree No 504/2022, Vasyl Maliuk was appointed the Acting Head of the SSU.

For excellent performance in the line of duty in the ATO area, Vasyl Maliuk received the Presidential award For participation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation.

Vasyl Maliuk has several departmental awards, in particular, the SSU badges For Courage and For Valour, Badge of Honor of the Security Service of Ukraine.

For personal courage and selfless actions in the defence of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, V.Maliuk was awarded the Order For Courage, III class, and the Presidential decoration Cross of Military Merit.
