The SSU is the main authority in the national counterterrorism system.

We counteract to manifestations of terrorism and coordinate the CT efforts of the state agencies. The Counterterrorism Centre at the SSU is responsible for this coordination.

The Staff of the Counterterrorism Centre monitors the level of terrorist threat, analyzes information from partners, and conducts drills on critical infrastructure facilities.

In wartime, the SSU has significantly increased the capabilities of the national counterterrorism system.

The SSU shares its experience with partners, primarily with the security and intelligence services of NATO and EU. The SSU is actively cooperating with them as the entire civilized world is now joining forces to fight against international terrorism.
