Cadets of SBU Academy take oath of allegiance to Ukrainian people (video)

143 cadets of the SBU National Academy took the oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people.

“The SBU provides Ukraine’s security on daily basis. It is not easy, but extremely important. Safety of Ukrainians is the prior task for us. And I am proud that the number of defenders of our country has increased by 143,” said Ivan Bakanov.

The head of the SBU appreciated the choice of the cadets emphasizing that only patriots who are well-educated and have sincere desire to protect the interests of Ukraine entered the Academy.

Ivan Bakanov noted that due to Russian aggression, the SBU should be always a step ahead in order to counteract its hostile activities effectively.

“We are changing the approaches to studying, improving the conditions and implementing the new methods in our work. By the way, it is the first time when the Academy starts cyber security course. We have high hopes for all of you,” pointed out the SBU Head.

At the same time, Ivan Bakanov emphasized that further service in the SBU will not be easy. Since, the frontline is not only on the East of Ukraine, but also in peaceful cities.

The audience honored the deceased heroes with a moment of silence.

Freshmen class was dedicated to the memory of the SBU colonel Denys Volochayev, who died in 2019 during combat mission on the East of Ukraine.

The mother of the fallen hero Halyna Volochayeva said: “Each of you is different, but you are all united by love for Ukraine”.

The Rector of the Academy Andrii Cherniak congratulated the cadets and said: “You are best of the best. You are already motivated, and after the course of basic military training are well-prepared for further service. Don’t lose your passion”.

The Chairman of the subcommittee on State Security and Defense of the Verkhovna Rada, MP Iryna Vereshchuk, the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Andrii Vitrenko, the First Deputy Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Oleksandr Porkhun, and the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Maliar also congratulated the cadets.

“Respect your parents and our heroes. Serve our country with honor. And remember that oath is taken once in a life, but you should always follow it, under any circumstances”, concluded Ivan Bakanov.
