Following SSU’s investigation, Ukraine nationalizes sanctioned russian oligarch’s plants worth UAH 10 bln

Basing on the SSU’s investigation, the High Anti-Corruption Court upheld the claim of the Ministry of Justice to transfer enterprises owned by the russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska to the state ownership of Ukraine.

The court’s decision applies to Mykolaiv Alumina Plant, Hlukhiv Quartzite Quarry, Khust Quarry, and Zhezhelevsky Quarry mining companies.

The value of the property handed over to Ukraine is over UAH 10 bln (USD 250 mln).

As established by the investigation, Deripaska, a close associate of russia’s military and political leadership, managed the enterprises through controlled commercial entities in several regions of Ukraine.

In this way, the russian oligarch tried to conceal his connection to Ukrainian assets.

However, the SSU exposed the scheme and initiated the transfer of 100% of the russian property to Ukraine.

The SSU Main Directorate for Counterintelligence Support of Critical Infrastructure and Countering Terrorism Financing acted to nationalize the aggressor‘s enterprises under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
