SBU prevented the illegal export from Ukraine of components for military equipment in Zakarpattya region. The radiation background of finding ranged up to 25 times over normal.

During the inspection at the “Vylok” checkpoint in the vehicle of Cherkasy city resident law-enforcement officers found aviation watches hidden from customs control. System of automated control for moving of radioactive substances and nuclear materials showed that some of the items are a source of ionizing radiation.

Currently dangerous finding is transported without threat to the health of the citizens for the respective examinations. Investigative actions are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the case, the origin sources of goods and customers. The operation was conducted jointly with the State Border Guard Service under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Zakarpattya region.
