SBU blocked in Kharkiv region a large-scale smuggling to our country of psychotropic substances from the European Union.

In the result of special operation operatives and investigators of the special service established that the smuggling was organized by a citizen of one of EU countries. He also planned to create a sales network in Kharkiv and nearby regions. Moving in Ukraine of consignments of amphetamine, 4-MMC, ecstasy and LSD the attacker conducted personally, hiding drugs in personal belongings during the border crossing.

SBU officers detained organizer of the channel in Kharkiv in due course of sale the next consignment of psychotropic substances for UAH 200 thousand. The polymer package with amphetamine with a total weight of almost one kilogram was seized from the offender. In the framework of initiated by the SBU investigators criminal proceeding a detained foreigner was served notice of suspicion of committing the crime stipulated by Part 3 Art. 305 and Part 3 Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The issue of choosing custody as a measure of restraint is now being settled.

Investigative actions are ongoing. The operation was conducted under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Kharkiv region.
