SBU Main Department for Fighting Corruption and Organized Crime officers exposed investigator of one of district units of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv city on receiving of improper advantage.

Operatives of the special service established that Police captain extorted UAH 30,000 from the person involved in criminal proceeding. In such amount the official assessed closing of the case for fraud.

The attacker was detained according to Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, after the transfer of UAH 15,000 second part of a bribe to a bank card.

Within the framework of a criminal proceeding initiated under Part 3 Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the issue of serving to the detainee a notice of suspicion is being settled.

Investigative actions are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the case.

The operation on exposure of the offender was conducted jointly with the Territorial Department of State Bureau of Investigations, located in Kyiv city under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of Kyiv city.
