Due to close interaction with local authorities, the SBU is able more effectively protect national security and counteract external threats. SBU Chairman Ivan Bakanov stated this during a working meeting with the head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration Oleksiy Chernyshov.

“Our task is to make all Ukrainians feel safe no matter where they live - in a big city or a small village. Due to close interaction with local authorities, the SBU is able more effectively protect national security and counteract external threats. We must take a proactive role. We join forces for the safety of our citizens,” - Ivan Bakanov said.

The SBU Head noted the importance of Kyiv region as one of the strategic regions for the country. In fact, there are many businesses and infrastructure facilities security of which needs particular attention. So, Ivan Bakanov and Oleksiy Chernyshov discussed the first priority measures for further cooperation. “Kyiv region should become safe and comfortable for people. Today, we have outlined our priority tasks and our next steps. I am grateful to Ivan Bakanov for fruitful cooperation and understanding”, - said Oleksiy Chernyshov.
