SBU CI Department uncovers another attempt of “MGB DNR” to recruit Ukrainian (video)
SBU CI Department officers uncovered another attempt of the "MGB DNR" terrorist organization to recruit a citizen of Ukraine for carrying out criminal activity to the detriment of the state security of our country.
Operatives of the special service found that in December 2019, during crossing the line of contact with the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region, militants of the so-called "MGB DNR" kidnapped a businessman from the Dnipro city, who was going to visit parents in Donetsk city. Terrorists unreasonably accused a man of activities to the detriment of the self-proclaimed "Donetsk People's Republic", in particular, of the work for the Ukrainian special services.
After filing a “charge" militants detained Ukrainian in the basement, using methods of psychological and physical pressure, depriving the possibility of nutrition. Threatening violence against relatives, they abetted the businessman to confidential cooperation.
Terrorists gave him a task to collect and transfer information about patriotic organizations with which he kept contacts.
The consent to cooperation didn’t satisfy militants, so another condition of release was the confiscation by the employees of the so-called "MGB DNR" of a significant amount of cash and car of the businessman.
Just after the returning to the territory under Ukrainian government control, a man appealed to the SBU. At present a man has provided detailed information about the circumstances of his recruitment and assigned tasks. The investigation revealed that an official didn’t perform any action to the damage of the national security of Ukraine.
This is not isolated case. SBU CI Department systematically detects and prevents attempts of the special services of the aggressor country and its controllable puppets to involve our compatriots into illegal activities.
SBU CI Department again warns that a wide range of Ukrainians remains in the risk zone, being in the increased attention of Russian special services and controlled by them “MGB D/LNR”. This includes military officers, law-enforcement officers, ATO(JFO) veterans, representatives of patriotic organisations, ordinary Ukrainian citizens going to Russia or temporarily occupied territories to work, travel or to visit relatives etc.
Each citizen of Ukraine should clearly realize his vulnerability before Russian repressive machine that uses criminal methods for recruitment of our citizens.
