Within counteraction of illegal trafficking of excisable goods, SBU officers seized a large batch of smuggled alcohol from a retail chain in the JFO area. The estimated price of the seized goods tops UAH 1,000,000 (circa USD 42,000). 

SBU officers established that an entrepreneur from Kramatorsk was selling counterfeit goods under the guise of elite brand alcohol through his own retail chain.        

During the searches of intruder’s five shops, SBU uncovered over 2,000 bottles of counterfeit alcohol in containers without excise duty stamps or forged excise stamps.   SBU operatives also seized financial and economic documentation, proving illegal activity.

The investigation is ongoing within a criminal proceeding initiated for unlawful manufacturing, storage, sale or transportation for selling purposes of excisable goods.

Sources of alcohol origin and people involved in the illegal activity are being identified.

Operation was conducted jointly with the State Fiscal Service Main Office in Donetsk region under legal supervision of regional Prosecutor's Office.
