SBU uncovered the leadership of one of the village communities of Khmelnytskyi region on receipt of illegal benefit.

The head of the local community and its deputy demanded USD 1 thousand from a representative of the local commercial structure. For the specified amount, they promised the entrepreneur to solve the issue of unhampered leasing of premises in the communal property. In a rented building businessman planned to build a catering institution.

Officials guaranteed to businessman a positive decision of the relevant issue by deputies of the village community.

Law enforcement officers detained the village head on one of the regional center streets on receiving the whole amount of illegal benefit.

The issue of serving a notice of suspicion to both involved persons under Part 3 Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and choosing the measure of restraint is being decided.

The investigation is under way.

The operation was conducted jointly with the Department of Strategic Investigations and investigators of the National Police under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor's Office.
