SBU detained the representative of the Military Physician Board of the Zhytomyr Military Hospital for extortion of money from the participant of the Joint Forces Operation.

Official demanded USD 1000 from the Armed Forces of Ukraine serviceman, who had been injured during his official duties. For the specified amount, the doctor promised man assistance in passing medical and social expert commission to determine the disability group. Although the serviceman had a legitimate right to it.

Law enforcement officers detained involved person at his office when he received the whole sum of bribe.

The issue of serving to offender notice of suspicion of committing a crime and choosing a preventive measure is resolved. In the framework of the criminal proceedings initiated under Part 3 Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine the investigative and operative actions are under way to establish other possible facts of illegal activities of the detainee.  The detection of offender was hold jointly with the National Police investigators under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor Office of Zhytomyr region.
