SBU detected and terminated unlawful actions of officials of one of the units of the Main Directorate of the StateGeoCadastre of Kyiv region, who extorted bribe for lend-lease of a land plot.

Operatives and investigators of the special service have established that the head and the state cadastral registrar of inter-district unit of the StateGeoCadastre of region decided to "earn" on local resident. For USD 10 thousand they agreed to issue the permits for lend-lease the land plot with a pond 1.2 hectares in area, belonging to the rural community.

Law enforcement officers detained takers on receiving the second part of the illegal benefit in the amount of UAH 150,000 (USD 6250) in the village café. Previously, the transfer to the involved persons of the first part of the bribe – UAH 75 thousand was documented.

SBU investigators within criminal proceedings under Part. 3 Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, settle the issue of serving to the detainees notices of suspicion. The involvement into the deal of other officials, including local authorities’ representatives is being also checked.

The operation to detect offenders was conducted under procedural supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv City.
