Cooperation in security sphere between Switzerland and Ukraine should be further strengthened
The Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Ivan Bakanov and Ambassador of Switzerland to Ukraine Claude Wild discussed possibilities for further cooperation in the security sphere.
According to Mr. Ambassador, such cooperation will enable the Service to counteract national and international security challenges more effectively.
The SBU Head noted that for Ukraine, further support from the international community in the issues of strengthening sanctions against the Russia through the illegal annexation of Crimea and military conflict in eastern Ukraine is extremely important.
Special attention was paid to adoption of the new Law “On Security Service of Ukraine" during the meeting. They mentioned that the adoption of the document is a key step in the reforming, but positive changes in the activities of the Service should not depend solely on the legislative nuances. "Not expecting the new law, we are changing the approaches to the activities of the Service now: we are working on the new organizational structure of the SBU, implementing the experience of foreign partners in respect of professional personnel effective management," - said Ivan Bakanov.
Ambassador Claude Wild said in response: "We thank you for the meeting today. And we hope for further cooperation between Switzerland and Ukraine in all relevant issues within our bilateral cooperation ".
