Dnipropetrovsk region: SBU uncovers separatist Internet agitator
SBU blocked the activity of the propagandist, involved in distribution through the Internet of materials in the interests of Russian special services.
SBU operatives and investigators have found that a resident of Pavlohrad periodically travelled to Russia on personal business. According to intelligence, he was recruited by the representatives of the Russian special services during the regular trip. After returning home, on their task, a man was spreading through banned in Ukraine social networks materials with appeals to violate the territorial integrity of our state.
During the authorized search at the involved person’s residence, the law enforcement officers seized computer equipment and other evidence, proving the illegal activity. He also planned to post information aimed at incitement of ethnic hatred and discrediting public authorities.
The propagandist received instructions through the email correspondence from the “curator”, who introduced himself as an employee of the so-called “MGB DNR".
Within the framework of criminal proceedings initiated by investigators of the SBU under Part 1 Art. 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine the issue of serving notice of suspicion to involved person is being settled. The information on his involvement into Russia’s military intelligence network is being checked. The article provides from 3 to 5 years of imprisonment.
