SBU officers suspect the head of the regional Center for Radiation Safety and Nuclear Medicine of Dnipropetrovsk region of taking regular bribes.

Operatives of the special service found that the owner of one of the private medical clinics acquired a new X-ray equipment and had to obtain permission for the medical personnel to work with the device. He officially appealed to the Center, which provides medical personnel with special courses on safety measures during the work with the X-ray equipment. According to the investigation, the head of the controlling body proposed to resolve the issue informally. For money, he guaranteed a rapid training course and passing examinations by medical staff.

Law enforcement officers documented obtaining by the official of UAH 12 thousand from the representative of the clinic. During investigations at the official’s workplace and residence, the law enforcement officers seized almost UAH 500 thousand, probably received from illegal activities.

According to preliminary information, official systematically received money reward for completion security courses not only from local medical institutions, but also "assisted" with the solution of this issue to representatives of other regions of Ukraine.

Within the framework of criminal proceedings initiated under Part 3 Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the head of the controlling body was served suspicion notice. The operation to expose offender was conducted under the procedural guidance of the Dnipropetrovsk local Prosecutor’s Office №1.
