Counter-intelligence Department of the Security Service of Ukraine arrested an agent of illegal armed formations, who passed the intelligence to the representatives of the so-called LNR MGB.

The SBU operatives and investigators established that former employee of the MIA, resident of temporarily occupied Luhansk, was recruited by the so-called LNR MGB. Aming at execution of curators` task, he arrived to the territory under control of the Ukrainian authorities, where he collected intelligence on deployment and rotation of the units involved in anti-terrorist operation. The “source” was hiding in different localities of our country.

The SBU officers documented the facts of the suspect’s illegal activity. Afterwards he was put on national “wanted” list.

     

Law enforcement officers detained him at the place of temporary residence in Kyiv.

The detainee will be sent to the court for considering the petition regarding choosing custody as a measure of restraint to him.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of Luhansk region.
