Head of the of the Security Service of Ukraine Ivan Bakanov held a meeting with delegation of the US State Department chaired by the Acting Deputy of State Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights Nathan Sales, who is the major coordinator for counterterrorism policy.

Parties discussed the ways of further enhancing cooperation for counteraction international terrorism.

“We are very grateful to our US colleagues for successful joint actions and for information exchange within the counteraction international terrorism,” - Ivan Bakanov pointed out.

Parties emphasized the need to sign an agreement as soon as possible which will allow the SBU and the US Terrorist Screening Center to share the information about identified terrorists and individuals suspected of involvement in terrorist activity.   

Head of the SBU and delegates of the US State Department noted that such high level of cooperation between parties must be maintained, since it is important in countering threats, which faces the entire civilized world.
