The Security Service of Ukraine exposed the chief inspector of the Cherkasy municipal district of the Department of State Emergency Service in Cherkasy region, involved in obtaining illegal benefits.

According to investigation, official systematically extorted money from representatives of commercial structures. For different amounts of bribes, he promised the businessmen not to create artificial obstacles in the conduction of commercial activity. The official, in particular, "guaranteed" them do not drew up protocols about detected violations of fire safety standards.

Law enforcement officers detained official in the office of the representative of the commercial structure after transferring of the regular amount of illegal benefit.

The issue of serving to involved person a notice of suspicion of committing a crime under Part 3 Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and choosing the measure of restraint is being decided.

Measures to detect illegal activities was conducted in conjunction with the Territorial Administration of the State Bureau of Investigations in Kyiv city under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor's Office of Cherkasy region.
