Ternopil welcomes futsal championship in memory of Ruslan Muliar, SBU Colonel
The International Cup of Sun Futsal Tournament was held in Ternopil, commemorating SBU Colonel Ruslan Muliar, who died on service in Luhansk region in May 2018. The primacy was organized under the aegis of the Ternopil Football Association and held on February 19-20.
These competitions were record-breaking by the number of participants – 64 teams from Ukraine, Egypt, Turkey, India, Canada and Kenya participated. The sporting event also was attended by the representatives of security agencies and law enforcement bodies of the region, in particular, the teams of the SBU regional Office, the National Police, the National Guard, the State Tax Service, the Military Law-Enforcement Service.
Participants of the competition honoured the memory of Ruslan Muliar who had always liked this sport and was an unchanged goalkeeper of the team of SBU Office in Ternopil region.

Ruslan Mulyar – Officer of the SBU Center for Special Operations “A”. For almost two decades, the officer rose from the ranks of the sergeant to the colonel, from the intelligence man to the head of the group. He was repeatedly awarded with departmental awards for professionalism, heroism and valor shown during the participation in the anti-terrorist operation. Ruslan was killed during a combat mission on May 26, 2018 in Luhansk region as a result of enemy fire. Ruslan Muliar was awarded the order “For Courage” of III degree (posthumous) by the President of Ukraine Decree No. 158 dated 02.06.2018, for valor and dedication during the line of duty.
