The SBU Main Directorate of Counterintelligence Protection of the State Interests in the field of Economic Security disclosed the scheme of smuggling into our country of high-value electrical goods with the involvement of the staff of one of the airlines.

Within the framework of the initiated criminal proceedings, the special service operatives have established that three persons involved bought and smuggled to Ukraine large lots of uncertified electronic goods of world famous brands.

After smuggling of goods into Ukraine, crew members sold products without compulsory certification on forged documents through a network of trade establishments in Kyiv and other regions of the country.

In the course of the investigative actions, law enforcement officers seized smuggled products, in particular, smartphones, forged accompanying documents, cash, as well as payment cards of non-resident banks with the use of which the financial transactions were carried out. 

The organizer of the scheme has been served a notice of suspicion of committing a crime.
