SBU counter-intelligence disclosed an organized criminal group, members of which were foreigners connected with an Honorary consular establishment in Ukraine and private firms.

The suspects had been forging documents, which were then legitimized in a foreign consulate. After that, those documents were submitted to the state authorities in order to obtain permits for staying in Ukraine of persons from countries with a high migration risk.

As a result of searches conducted jointly with the National police within the criminal proceedings initiated under Art. 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the law enforcement seized documents, computers and media to be used as evidence of unlawful legalizing of foreigners.

The issue of serving the notice of suspicion to the members of the group is being decided.
