SBU materials helped to serve a notice of suspicion of committing a corruption crime to the head of Zaporizzhya the law office.

According to the investigation, the lawyer together with the director of the land management consulting firm demanded UAH 1,000,000 (USD 25,750,000) from a local businessman.

The SBU operatives exposed the offenders in June 2019. For this amount, the attackers promised businessman to influence on the officials of the local authority for a positive decision on granting the purchase option of the land plot.

Currently, the lawyer, upon the prosecutor’s instruction of Zaporizzhya region, has been served a notice of suspicion of committing the crime under Part 4 Art. 27, Part 2 Art. 15, Part 3 Art. 369 and Part 4 Art. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation is under way.
