SBU Counter-intelligence has uncovered and blocked an attempt of illegal transmission of classified information about the technical development of shipbuilding industry in Ukraine to the Russian special services.

According to intelligence, the resident of Mykolaiv region agreed with Russian FSB officers on classified communications traffic for money. The attacker, on the facilitator’s instructions, collected classified data about the activities of one of the leading shipbuilding enterprises, including its technical development.

SBU officers documented all contacts between the suspect and representatives of the Russian special services.

The law enforcement detained the agent on attempt of illegal transmission of classified information.

The issue of serving to the detainee a notice of suspicion under Part 1 Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and choosing form of detention is now being resolved. 

The investigative actions are ongoing.
