JFO area: SBU exposes cache with munitions stolen in 2014 from Crimea
Within the framework of countering illegal arms trafficking in Luhansk region, SBU officers found a cache with military munitions stolen in 2014 from a military unit in the Autonomic Republic of Crimea.
The officers seized an antitank grenade launcher RPG-22, two fragmentation grenades RG-42, two machine guns AK-74 and a lot of ammo of different callibre from the cache in a strip of woods near a locality in Novopskovsk district.
Allegedly, a member of one of the “LNR” illicit groups arranged the cache in 2014. The militant, having dual citizenship on Ukraine and Russia, lived in Luhansk region at that time. He contacted with Russian special services and probably is involved in blast of the bridge in Pidhorivka village, Starobilsk district.
The investigative actions are ongoing at the crime scene. The operation was conducted jointly with demining unit of the SES and National Police.
