SBU CI exposes recruitment of Ukrainian by “MGB DNR”, again (video)

SBU CI exposed a fact of engagement a Mariupol resident in confidential cooperation by Russia-controlled employees of so-called DNR Ministry of State Security (“MGB DNR”).

SBU established that a man with several criminal records was detained be a representative of an IAF during his stay on the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region. After that, the man was recruited by a representative of “MGB DNR” and signed an agreement for cooperation. The suspect was given a nickname and instructed how to use electronic communication channels.

For money, the Mariupol resident was to use his criminal ties for collection personal data concerning the officers of the law enforcement authorities and special services. The suspect also “made a commitment” to collect information on the objects of critical infrastructure in Mariupol.

After returning to the government-controlled territory, the man came to the attention of Ukrainian CI employees.

As of today, all the circumstances of the suspect’s involvement into the activity against Ukrainian state security are being investigated, as well as the details of his stay on the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region.
