Donetsk region: SBU uncovers militant who mined six bridges
During the operative actions, the SBU uncovered a militant who in 2014 mined six bridges, subsequently damaged by terrorists, in Donetsk region.
Pre-trial investigation established that a resident of Konstyantynivka town in 2014 voluntarily joined the gang “Prizrak” and in summer participated in battles against the Ukrainian Army.
He mined four bridges in Lysychansk city and Luhansk region, two - in Donetsk region. All bridges were blown up by terrorists. During the liberation of the Donetsk region, he returned to Konstyantynivka town to his family and had the low-paid jobs.
The detainee currently is cooperating with investigators within the criminal proceeding. He provides evidence on the terrorist organization activities, as well as Russian involvement in the occupation of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Former militant reported on the cache with munition arranged by terrorists in 2014.
From the cache, arranged near Bila Hora village, law enforcement officers seized assault rifle AK-47 of 5,45mm caliber, almost 200 ammo and F1 and RG-42 hand grenades.
The detainee received a notice of suspicion for creation of unlawful paramilitary or armed formations.
Investigation is ongoing. Operation was conducted by the SBU Department of National Statehood Protection and the SBU Main Office in Donetsk and Luhansk region jointly with the National Police under the legal supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of Luhansk region.
