SBU uncovers sellers of military munitions in Vinnytsia (video)
The SBU in Vinnytsia blocked activity of the organized group, which illegally sold firearms and ammo (including those of foreign production).
Allegedly, several residents of the regional center arranged illegal sale of munitions on the territory of the region. They hid the goods at own houses and searched for customers among personal ties, foremost criminal ones.
On April 6, SBU officers detained one of the members of the group, previously convicted of a felony, when he attempted to sell CZ-26 machine gun and almost 200 rounds of different caliber. Before that, the officers had documented that the suspect sold a RPG anti-tank grenade launcher, a Fort-17 pistol with a silent shooting device, two RGD-5 grenades. TT pistol and 170 rounds of 7,62 mm caliber.
During the searches at the suspects’ places of registration and actual residence, SBU officers seized firearms, components to its automatic samples and money, obtained by illegal means.
The detainee is served a notice of suspicion under Part 1 of the Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The issue of choosing custody as a type of detention is being decided.
Law enforcement is searching other members of the group and checking the information on the sources and channels of the seized munitions supply.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of Vinnytsia region.
