Leader of “Brianka USSR” terrorist group is convicted to 15-year imprisonment

One of the leaders of “Brianka USSR” and “Prizrak Brigade” of the “LNR” terrorist organization was convicted in absentia in Ternopil City.

SBU CI officers and investigators established that a resident of Sloviansk City voluntarily joined IAF in 2014. Being a member of “Prizrak Brigade”, he took an active part in the armed aggression against the ATO forces. He repeatedly received honors from the so-called “LNR”.

Later the militant was appointed as the “deputy commander of the 1st mechanized company” of “Brianka USSR” terrorist group. The criminal took command of the IAF groups, confronting Ukrainian Army forces, in particular, he was operating the terrorists’ strongholds near Pervomaisk City in Luhansk region.

SBU materials helped to prove the suspect's guilty of creation a terrorist group or a terrorist organization (P. 1 Art. 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and to sentence him in absentia to 15-year imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The criminal is put on the wanted list.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the employees of the SBU Office in Ternopil region.
