Zhytomyr region: SBU found cache with 6 kg of plastid
In the course of countering illegal arms trafficking, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed a cache with explosives and other weapons in Zhytomyr region.
The cache was set up in the forest belt near the city cemetery. Law enforcement officers seized almost 6 kg of plastid, half a hundred direct and controlled detonation devices, TNT block, anti-personnel mine, incendiary wires and two under-barrel grenades, as well as a blank for an improvised explosive device in a gun cleaner cylinder.
The seized munitions were sent for examination.
In the framework of the criminal proceedings initiated under Part 1 Art.263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine investigative actions are ongoing. The sources of origin of the weapons and the persons involved in the arrangement of the caches are being established.
Measures to counter illegal arms trafficking were carried out by the SBU Office in Zhytomyr region jointly with the National Police.
