The SBU CI uncovered and blocked illegal migration through the state border to the EU.

Allegedly, a citizen of Central Asia country organized the illegal transfer of foreigners to the EU countries. He helped his clients to cross the Ukraine-Romania border avoiding check-points.

Law enforcement detained the offender and four nationals of East Asia, illegally present in Ukraine, while preparing to cross the state border. The offender received USD 3,500 per each migrant.

The issue of serving a notice of suspicion to the detainee is being settled within the initiated criminal proceeding for illegal movement of persons across the state border of Ukraine. The type of detention is being chosen. Investigation is ongoing.

The operation was conducted jointly with the investigators of Sviatoshyn Police Department of the Main National Police Directorate in Kyiv city.
