SBU exposed officials of Vinnytsia city council on million losses to the budget on procurement of salt for roads.

SBU officers established, that officials of the Department for municipal household and services colluded with manager of one of local companies. They created uncompetitive conditions for other potential bidders and dramatically overpriced the goods. In December last year, the Department concluded a contract with this company for supply of salt for UAH 9,900,000 (USD 370,000).

The initiated by SBU expertise confirmed the fact of overpricing for circa UAH 4,800,000 (USD 180,000) causing the state to suffer particularly large losses.

SBU investigators served four suspects the notices of suspicion of committing the crime under Part 2 Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The investigative actions are ongoing.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of Vinnytsia region.
