Donetsk region: SBU uncovers state registrar on misappropriation of land and property worth USD 4.5 million

In Donetsk region, the SBU uncovered a state registrar of Nikopol District State Administration on manipulations with the information in the automated systems in order to change property rights.

Allegedly, in autumn 2019, the official made unauthorized changes to the State Register of Proprietary Rights. She unlawfully deprived a state-owned bank of the right to own 27.8 hectares of land and non-residential buildings with a total area of over 70,000 square meters. Offender’s illegal activity caused losses to the state budget totaling UAH 122 million (USD 4.5 million).

The pre-trail investigation has been completed. The SBU sent to a court the indictment for unauthorized actions with information, which is processed in the electronic computing machines (computers), automated systems, computer networks or saved on the information-carrying medium, committed by a person entitled to access to such information. 

The SBU stopped illegal activity. The bank’s property right is restored.

The operation was conducted under the legal supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office in Donetsk region.
