SBU materials helped to serve notice of suspicion of committing crime to a deputy of Lviv Regional Council, who also heads one of the Lviv City Council Departments.

Allegedly, the official facilitated lease agreements with commercial and public companies for unreasonably low rates. SBU has documented several facts of lease of communal real estate in the center of Lviv at prices several times lower than market prices.

During investigations, law enforcement officers found that state budget lost almost UAH 1,200,000 (USD 44,445).

The involvement of other persons involved in the illegal activities is now being identified.

Consequently, the deputy was accused of official negligence (Part 2 Art.367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The exposing operation was conducted by the SBU Office in Lviv region jointly with the National Police under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor's Office.
