Ivan Bakanov: SBU regional offices should focus more on countering threats caused during coronavirus pandemic

“All SBU regional offices should focus on countering threats, posed to the state during the coronavirus pandemic,” stated the SBU Head Ivan Bakanov during his working visit to Dnipropetrovsk region, where he met with the managerial staff and personnel of the regional SBU Office.

"The hybrid war against Ukraine does not stop - we see that even when the whole world is fighting the coronavirus, our enemies are trying to destabilize the situation in the country in various ways. Therefore, all SBU regional offices must take a proactive role, act in a coordinated and effective manner, neutralizing various types of threats," emphasized Ivan Bakanov.

Among the key tasks for the SBU Office in Dnipropetrovsk region, the SBU head outlined counterintelligence activities, counteracting cyber threats, protection of national statehood and critical infrastructure facilities, issues of environmental security, etc.

He stressed that increased attention to each of the areas of work is of great importance for the security of the state. 

The SBU Head learned in detail the results and long-term plans for all areas of work of the regional office.

Apart from that, Ivan Bakanov held a consultative meeting with the heads of law enforcement agencies of the region. The participants of the meeting agreed to coordinate efforts to ensure peace and tranquility in the region during the quarantine measures.

The visit continued, and the working meetings were held in Kryvyi Rih city.
