SBU exposes pro-Russian Internet agitators
SBU Cybersecurity blocked the activity of Internet agitators who spread public calls to change state borders and overthrow the Ukrainian government via the Internet. The group acted on the instructions of Russian curators.
Allegedly, two residents of Khmelnytskyi and Ivano-Frankivsk cities administered separatist communities on social media. The suspects acted under the "cover" of the Ukrainian SMM company.
On the Internet, they distributed mostly destructive content: fakes about quarantine restrictions due to COVID-19, discrediting public authorities. And most importantly - the agitators inspired the protests and promoted the idea of federalization of Ukraine.
The expert linguists confirm: the calls contain public appeals to change the territory and state border of Ukraine, as well as calls for violent overthrow of the constitutional order.
The law enforcement conducted searches and seized computer equipment and mobile devices that contained evidence of illegal activity.
The investigation is ongoing upon the fact of trepass against territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine (Part 2 of Art. 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The issue of serving the detainees notices of suspicion is being settled.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office in Khmelnytskyi region.
