The SBU CI detained a militant of “DNR” terrorist organization.

SBU operatives established that a resident of Donetsk city is a militant of the so-called DNR 1^st Army Corps and is a member of the tank crew of terrorists. He illegally came to Kharkiv region to visit his relatives.

The SBU CI documented militant’s stay in the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities and detained him while returning to “DNR” across the Ukraine-Russia border.

During the inspection of militants’ belongings, the law enforcement seized military ID of the so-called DNR Ministry of Defense with marks of the unit, where the militant serves, and his assigned weapon. The SBU also confiscated ID card of membership in fake “DNR public movement”. The militant's laptop and mobile phone contained photos and videos with evidence of his service in the terrorist tank unit and use of weapons.

The militant received a notice of suspicion within a criminal proceeding initiated for creation of armed formations in contravention of Ukrainian laws, and participation in the operations. Custody was chosen as a type of detention.
