“Given the strategic location of Odesa region, the SBU will pay even more attention to the region” said the SBU Head Ivan Bakanov during his working visit to Odesa region. He introduced the new Chief of the SBU Regional Office to the staff.

"Odesa region is the largest region of Ukraine. It is multinational, with long borders, powerful trading sea ports and significant economic potential. We are well aware of how foreign special services are trying to destabilize the situation in Odesa region. But they will fail. The SBU is successfully counteracting such attempts and will continue to do so," pointed out Ivan Bakanov.

“Such regional peculiarities assign additional responsibilities to SBU employees to maintain peace and security in Odesa region,” added the SBU Head.

“We should not forget particular events that have happened in Odesa since 2014. Therefore, our CI must be at the top level,” emphasized Ivan Bakanov.

Among the key SBU priorities are counteracting, protection of national statehood, fighting against terrorism, sabotage and cyber threats.

In addition, Ivan Bakanov learned in detail the results and long-term plans for all areas of work of the SBU Regional Office.

To remind, on May 13^th the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi appointed Viktor Dorovskyi as the Chief of the SBU Office in Odesa region.
