SBU suspects own employee of involvement into drug business
In Kyiv, the Main Directorate of SBU Internal Security blocked drug dealers, linked with the SBU officer.
The law enforcement established that the dealers set up drug labs in flats and garages, where they produced wholesale amphetamine. The dealers searched for customers through their contacts in criminal circles and online-messenger. They used so-called implants in Kyiv region to hand the psychotrophic substances and drugs over. In addition, the suspects used private postal services to deliver the “goods” to other regions.
During the investigation, the law enforcement documented that drug dealers produced up to 20 kg of amphetamine per month worth UAH 2,000,000 (USD 74,000) at black market. During the searches in drug labs and suspects’ places of residence, the officers seized precursors, chemical agent and the weapons, narcotics, psychotropics and ‘lab’ equipment.
Four members of the drug group are detained by SBU within the criminal proceeding under Part 3 Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine under the supervision of the Military Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv garrison. All the suspects are served notices of suspicion of committing the crime and custody is chosen as a form of detention.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
