SBU detains in Kyiv and Zakarpattya facilitator and members of illegal alien trafficking to EU
The Security Service of Ukraine exposed the Kyiv resident on organizing of an interregional group that was engaged in the illegal trafficking of foreigners to the EU countries. The cost of "services" were estimated at USD 5,000 per client.
Allegedly, the attackers used detours outside the established checkpoints to move illegal immigrants across the state border. In addition, foreigners transferred money for the "transit" via mediator in Kyiv city.
During the special operation, SBU officers detained four group members in Rakhiv district, Zakarpattya region, attempting to illegally transport several foreigners abroad. At the same time, the facilitator and mediator were arrested in Kyiv city while transferring the certain amount for group trafficking.
The law enforcement found vehicles and phones proving their illegal activity.
The issue of serving the offenders notice of suspicion upon the fact of organizing illicit human trafficking across the state border of Ukraine committed by prior conspiracy by a group of individuals for profit (Part 2 and 3 Art.332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) is being decided.
Investigations are ongoing.
The operation was carried out by the SBU Main Directorate for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime jointly with the SBU Office in Zakarpattya region and the National Police in Kyiv region under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv region.
