Judge of Mariinsky district court of Donetsk region is accused of facilitating illegal takeover of property
Judge of Mariinsky district court of Donetsk region was served a notice of suspicion of facilitating illegal takeovers of Kyiv city facilities of state, communal and private property. The SBU established that the judge’s actions resulted in illegal alienation of property worth UAH 164 million (USD 6 million) in total.
The SBU employees exposed the interregional criminal group, among the members of which was the judge, in August, 2019. The criminal group also involved representatives of the judicial bodies, attorneys and former employees of the justice authorities. The suspects were illegally re-registering property using deliberately forged documents and keys of access to the State Register of Real Property Rights. In total, the activity of the criminal group resulted in UAH 1,5 billion (USD 56 million) losses to the state and to the businessmen.
In particular, it was established that the Judge of Mariinsky district court was presiding in the case of alienation of parking lot in downtown Kyiv. The judge ordered to confiscate the facility of 226 square metres from the legal owner, thus violating the criminal procedure.
As of now, the judge was served a notice of suspicion of delivery of knowingly unfair order (P.1, P.2 of Art. 375 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Earlier, six accomplices of the judge received custody as a form of detention under the decision of Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv City.
The operation was conducted jointly with the Kyiv Local Prosecutor's Office No. 7.
